This is an important question because it seems like everyone is saying the world is millions (4.6 Billion) of years old. THAT'S A LOT OF YEARS!!! The truth is we have no way of knowing for sure how old the earth is exactly. But if you read the Bible God gives us a good idea.
In many parts of the Bible we find "geneologies" but most kids (and adults too) usually skip over them. A geneology tells us about a family. For example your geneology would tell you who your mom and dad are, then your grandparents, great grandparents, etc.. The geneologies in the Bible are like this too. They tell us who the first man was (Adam), how old he was when his son Seth was born, and how old Seth was when his son (Enos) was born. If you add up the ages of the people you discover that it was about 6000 years ago that God created the world.
