Sometimes people try to fit the world being millions of years old into what the Bible says. They usually do one of two things: Either say that there were millions (or billions) of years between verses 1 and 2 of Genesis chapter 1
Genesis 1:1-3 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [BILLIONS OF YEARS] [2] The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. [3] Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
or they say that each of the days of creation were long periods of time (maybe millions of years for each day).
